Update April 25: Because we are not reopening until the 3rd of May, we will not be able to participate in ArtsGo. The artists that were going to join us for the event will be at the Brownsburg Library instead. This will be for Saturady only as the library is NOT open on Friday evening.
Update April 22: We have been told by the remediation company that they will not be able to turn over the gallery to use until May 3rd. This mean that ArtsGo in a No-Go for us. We apologize to everyone for this inconvenience.
Original Post:
We are still closed. We apologize for this inconvenience.
Progress is being made in our gallery, but as usual it is taking longer than we had hoped. The remediation crew has stripped the ceiling tile out, cleaned out the ventilation system, cleaned all our contents and wiped down the ceiling. Yet to be completed is painting the walls, replacing the carpet and minor upgrades for electrical compliance, replacing the ceiling tile...
We have been told that it is reasonable to expect this to be completed next week. To be safe, we are setting May 3, as our reopening date. We will however host our ArtsGo location as we are committed to our artists.
Even though the facade will take months to rebuild, we will be open well before then.

Today we celebrate our daughter Cecilia's 23rd birthday! Last year for her birthday we framed a print that she had bought during her semester abroad in Italy. Cecilia had taken a side trip to Prague and brought back two prints the city. One for Laura and one for herself. Laura's family came from the Czech Republic, where Prague is the capital, so she was very happy to receive such a wonderful gift.
Framing prints of scenery from travels is a wonderful way to preserve the memories of the experience. Custom framing them allows you to be expressive with the colors and style of frame to truly complement the work and fit your individual style. Using a fillet, or a smaller frame within the frame adds a little something special. Laura and Cecilia enjoyed picking out the matting, fillet and frame together and Cecilia's expression when she got the finished piece on her birthday was priceless.
Happy Birthday Cecilia. We look forward to framing your diploma when you graduate from Purdue in May!
We have been closed for close to three weeks due to the fire that started at the Mexican restaurant's neon sign. The facade of our strip mall burned from one end to the other. Fortunately it was not able to break through into any of the businesses.

My Nana celebrates her 91st
birthday tomorrow. The image of the family history timeline on our home page displays photographs of my Nana's life from the wedding portrait of her parents to the wedding portrait of her and my Papa. This was the first piece that my husband Lee and I framed together when we bought the gallery one year ago last March. We gave it to her as a gift for her 90th birthday. It was displayed on an easel at her party and several family members delighted in seeing photos from her childhood and candids photo of her and Papa taken before they were married. The joy on her face when she recieved this gift was priceless.
Framing photographs of family ancestors and loved one is wonderful way to remember them and keep their stories and memories alive. Archival matting and UV coated glass insure that these photographs are preserved and can be passed on to future generations. My Nana often quotes her mother saying "Tempus Fugit" time flies! Indeed it does. Capture those treasured family moments today and frame them to last a lifetime. Happy 91st Birthday Nana!
Lee and I went to Las Vegas last week for the West Coast Art and Frame Show. We arrived on Saturday and had some leisure time before the seminar classes started.
I have to thank my local Stouts Shoes salesman for recommending Mon Ami Gabi for dinner at the Paris Hotel and Casino. We enjoyed the most delicious mussels mariniere served with frites and a fabulous view of the Bellagio from their outdoor patio.
I had captured this scene years before in my sketchbook from a cafe on the street level. When sketching a scene, the more senses you engage, the more you retain the memory. When I look at that sketch, I can hear the sounds of the Bellagio's synchronized fountains and taste the french bread dipped in mariniere. We highly recommend the outdoor patio at Mon Ami Gabi if you go to Vegas.
After dinner we headed to the Bellagio to see the current exhibit in their gallery. We encountered the art of Richard MacDonald on the way in a new gallery just outside of the O Theatre which is open to the public. We were both overwhelmed by the expressiveness of the faces and movement of the sculptures. Inspired by live dancers and acrobats from Cirque de Soleil, MacDonald literally moves with and dances around his models while sculpting their form.
I have always had an appreciation for ballet and Lee competed in college as a gymnast. Perhaps it was that connection that captivated our attention, never had we both been so moved by works of art.
The gallery rep referred to him as "the Degas, Rodin, or Michelangelo of our time. Having been fortunate enough to experience the works of all those artists, I would have to agree with him. Each of these sculptors depict the human form exquisitely and MacDonald ranks among them. The movements of his works seem to defy gravity and the facial expressions communicate the true expressions of a live performer. Amazing!
If you find yourself in Vegas, don't miss an opportunity to see Richard MacDonald's work.

Medkser's Buried Treasure will be on the move tomorrow, finding its new home in a corporate office in Connersville, Indiana. Check back to see more images from this corporate installation which takes place tomorrow. We offer complementary delivery and hanging to our corporate clients.
We are very honored to be selected as the framers for this piece. It was sent as a gift to St. Malachy in Brownsburg in thanks for their support of Ste. Marguerite in Haiti.

Take a look at our latest creations. Two shadowbox frames were made this week.
The first is a dagger brought over from Qatar that was given to our client by her fellow Airmen. The second is a set of grips I used during my long lost days as a gymnast. We can put just about anything in a shadowbox.
If you have anything that has fond memories attached to it, but it doesn't fit your decor for display in the house, bring it in and we can help present it to fit your style.
