Collaborative Works of Lynne and Mark Medsker
November 26 - December 31st
Incorporating recycled scrap metal with rich colors and textures reminiscent of the topography you experience in the American West, Lynne and Mark Medsker collaborate to create stunning contemporary works of art on both wood and metal. These newest creations were inspired by Lynne's recent residency at The Tin Shoppe in Breckenridge, Colorado. Lynne has always been fascinated with the play of color and texture in her work. During her stay in Colorado, she explored using grout to create a variety of surfaces that reflected her surroundings. Her choices of color were influenced by the metals and stones mined in the area such as copper and turquoise. Mark provides Lynne with an endless supply of unique metal parts that come off of the heavy machinery that he repairs. He polishes and welds together the old parts to create unique metal reliefs that either stand alone or are reborn into one of the married couples mixed media works of art. Many of the pieces create by the Medskers can be combined in different compositions on a wall to create a unique display.
